A Radical People ...
A Radical People with the Sin and faithful Sólo al Señor
“If your right eye..., if your right hand you is an occasion to fall down, extract it, cut it, throw it of you, since it is better that one of your members gets lost, and not that all your body is thrown to the hell.”
Mateo 5:29-30
When Mister Jesus Christ used these so radical words, it did it like consequence of having re-interpreted the ancient order: "You will not commit adultery.” “You Heard that it was said: You will not commit adultery. But I say to you that anyone that looks at a woman to covet it, already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Mateo 5:27-28). The true thing is that if God was going to act radically in the application of this order the whole humanity would be one-eyed and mutilated. Nevertheless, in his big love and compassion it is obliging with us, and he warns us of the gravity of the secret sin that can or not to come out, or to be completed physically. In front of God there is no difference between a contaminated heart and a “stained bed”. Also, that the sin never brings in to the heart but he is born and goes out of him.
The warning of the Gentleman is to take care of our heart, our motivations, our desires. And not to allow the low passions of our sinful nature to go so far as to be supervised by our life. If we are not radical with the sin we can still repeat the history, of the big men of the Bible, who were licentious with themselves.
If something impressed me personally when he was studying the God's attributes, it was a sermon preached by Carlos Spurgeon about the God's Immutability. It was he who was saying: "I have gone directly up to coming to the limits of the sin; some very strong temptation has taken me of my two arms, in such a way that it could not fight against her. I have been pushed, dragged by a terrible satanic power up to the proper rim of some horrible abyss. I have looked it was right below, and I have seen my portion. I have trembled at the edge of the ruin. I have been horrified with my top hairs, on having thought about the sin that I have been on the point of committing, the horrible hole in which I have been on the point of falling down. A powerful arm has saved me. I have withdrawn exclaiming:“: Oh God! How could I approach so much the sin and nevertheless avoid it? How could I have walked directly to the stove and not to have fallen down, like the vigorous men of Nabucodonosor, who were devoured by the fire flame?” Yes, I am here, without being consumed, because the Gentleman does not change.”
To be a radical with the sin will never exclude the temptation. But it begins in spite of bringing all the captive thoughts to God, and doing what the Bible says to us: "Submit you to God; resist to the devil; and of you he will flee.”
Lay hands him on this at the moment of the temptation: "God is our cover and fortitude, our prompt help in the ordeal.” “Because the God power is perfected in our weakness.” Discover in his weakness that his help comes from the high thing, it comes from the Gentleman.
