WHAT DO WE BELIEVE

_______________________________________________________________

SOLUS SCRIPTURA (ALONE WRITING)

We affirm that the Sacred Writing is unwandering and that they constitute the only source of written divine revelation, and therefore, the only one that can govern the Christian conscience. Only the Bible teaches everything what is necessary for our salvation of the sin, and it is the rule to which the whole behavior of the Christian must measure itself.

We deny that any creed, council or person could govern the conscience of the Christian; that the Holy Spirit speaks independently to what is written in the Bible or opposite of what is written in her, or that the personal spiritual experiences could be in some form or occasion means of revelation.

SOLUS CHRISTUS (ALONE CHRIST)

We reaffirm that our salvation is obtained only by the mediating work of historical Christ. His life without sin and his death in our place they are sufficient for our justification and conciliation with the Father.

We deny that the Gospel could be preached if the vicarial work of Christ is not declared, and the faith in Christ is not needed.

ALONE GRATIA (ALONE GRACE)

We reaffirm that in the salvation we are rescued of the God's anger only by his grace. That with his supernatural work the Holy Spirit is the one that brings to us Christ, resuscitating us from the spiritual death to the spiritual life, and liberating us of our slavery of the sin.

We deny that the salvation is somehow the result of the merit or the human effort. The methods, the skills or human strategies for themselves cannot produce this transformation. The faith is not produced by our not regenerated human nature.

ALONE FIDE (ALONE FAITH)

We reaffirm that the justification is for grace only, across the faith only, for Christ only. In the justification, Christ's holiness is imputed or awarded us like the only possible satisfaction to the perfect justice of God.

We deny that the justification depends on any merit found in us, or that it depends on any infusion of Christ's holiness in us, or that an institution should be called or recognized like "Church" according to the law when this one denies or condemns the "alone fide".

SOLI DEO GLORY (ONLY TO GOD GLORY)

We reaffirm that, because the salvation comes from God, has been obtained by God, and is for the God's glory, must always glorify him for her; that, also, we must live ours through lives with integrity in the God's presence, under the God's authority and only for his glory.

We deny that we can glorify God appropriately if our adoration is confused with the entertainment, if we neglect the LAW or the GOSPEL in the preaching, or if the auto-overcoming, self-esteem or the auto-satisfaction have turned into alternatives for the Gospel.

We believe that the Confession and the Catechisms of Westminster, the Belgian Confession and the Catechism of Heidelberg and Cánones de Dort express faithfully the Biblical doctrines.
