The Apostolic and Prophetic Reform
Such a called “Apostolic and Prophetic Reform” campea for his respect in our country. While in other parts of the Spanish-speaking world they are putting the screams in the sky to denounce them, in Puerto Rico, it seems that the sweets eat us. They fill the mouth calling to him themselves the same apostles (expert) and prophets, and we have kept silent to ourselves about it for not causing the impression of which we are contentious. But this ostensible peace that we want plans it is the peace of the cemeteries. God exhorts us in his Word to which we continue “fighting vigorously for the faith entrusted once and for all to the saints” - Judas 3.
Several decades ago the Rev. Florentino Santana crossed in the way the prophets of his time with his titled book “I hope they all were prophets”. In that time it was treating as some that for off balance, and others for ready, dragging his spiritualism traces were introducing them in the churches causing confusion and divisions. Always supported by the ignoramuses of the easily impressionable Writing for the emotions, the fenomenología and the "supernatural thing".
But this new stamp of “apostles and prophets” there are the culture medium of the latent carismátismo in the churches that have flirted with him, under the cloak of the “gospel of the prosperity”. So inebriated they have been of the "prosperity", of the reputation, the religious fame, and the ecclesiastic autocratic government, which exactly, there are “gentle churches” the base of his operation. And, of course, this implies a major influence, more diffusion and a worse danger than the watered "prophets" who they preceded. These are well organized and protest with his fresh faces like a lettuce, authority, power and hierarchy on churches, cities, regions, countries and continents.
Years ago one of the men who more has contributed to this apostolic and prophetic strip that we have today, Peter Wagner, he wrote a titled book: Care, there the pentecostales come! To “premium facie” would seem that it was a preventive voice of the dangers that the carismátismo was bringing with it. But, in fact, it was everything opposite. It was the attractive presentation and gestation of a movement and a few peculiar formulae of the same one, which with the time would give birth to this strange creature.
With our silence we have been accomplices or too tolerantly with something that to all lights is contradictory with the Biblical and historical Christianity. The Protestant Reform of the XVIth Century fought, to the risk of the life of his exponent, for one of his mottoes: "Alone Scriptura”. Only the Bible is the God's Word, and the only source rules of faith and conduct for the believers.
We are cesacionistas because we believe that neither nothing nor nobody out of the Bible can allege to be inspired. Otherwise, we would have to accept an incomplete, insufficient and obsolete Bible for our days, and a “open canon” for the “updated word” of the new “apostles and prophets.”
The apostles and contemporary prophets are a reply of those "illuminated" and "spiritual" assumptions of which it was necessary to take care in the Biblical times, during the Reform and across the whole Church history.
East is a named one to assume a Biblical, consistent, awkward and combative position to the advantage of “the faith entrusted once by all to the saints”.
