STOP BEING LIARS, SPEAKING THE TRUTH For Milton Villanueva

“For which, rejecting the lie, speak truth each one with his neighbor; because we are members some of others.”-Efesios 4:25

Here apostle Pablo begins to apply the dynamics of “remove and set” to specific things. In this case it is a question of the lie. The lie is a part of the robes of the old creature. Everything the one that lies is a liar. Therefore, the Christian cannot be a liar like not Christians. That about that “Jorge Washington never said a lie” is of for itself a big lie - “earlier well he is a truthful God, and every lying man” – Romans 3:4

“Rejecting the lie” So the first piece of the garb of the old creature that it is necessary to throw to the garbage is the lie. In the Greek original the word that to be uses for the lie is to pseudos”, that in good Spanish it means falsely. As in case of a writer who uses a pseudonym, that is to say that is using a false name to conceal his.

The lie is a concealment of the truth. We can do it, denying, adding, remaining, they exaggerate, keeping silent about it, distorting. The motives for lying also can be different: not car to be accused, to protect a false appearance, to achieve a target, to cheat, to justify itself or to justify something, to suit, etc. But it does not matter what the motives are, in the last analysis, the liar is not another thing than a poor scared deceitful devil, who does not support to face in public the truth with which it faces to alone itself. The psychology labels this persistent conduct as a pathology that names it "mitomanía", a psychological - paranoid disorder. The Bible calls him by his name “sin“. And because it corresponds to the clothing of the old man, any that one that loves and practises the lie will be excluded from the Eternal Life – Apocalypse 22:14-15.

But a liar it stops being, not when he stops lying, but when only he tells the truth – “rejecting the lie, speak truth each one with his neighbor”. The truth and only the truth is a part of clothing that corresponds to the Christian. And there is another big reason not to lie to us: "because we are members some of others.” We are members of Christ and members some of others. As Christ's members, when we lie, we commit a sacrilege against what He is, against what He has done to us

and against other members of the same church in which God has put us. Martyn Lloyd-Jones says, that the one that lies to a brother, also is lying to himself that it is a part of the same body.

We agree in that one becomes a liar for the habitual practice of lying. That does not mean that when we are born again, automatically it will eliminate this old sinful habit. But yes that you have to fight seriously in spite of undressing something of our sinful nature that Christ already crucified and won in the cross. We have to die to the lie and live for the truth that he is Christ. The devil is a lie father, and when he speaks about lie of himself he speaks (Juan 8:44). We are not children of the devil but God's children.

As well as lying is a habit that took time and practice, to tell the truth also will take time and practice to us to turn into a new habit of the new creature created to Christ's image. Possibly some of them must begin the change confessing to God his sin and the men his lies. And the church might help them confronting them with them, and excusing them.

How much is it ten per cent of a peseta? For Mercedes Cordero

When it was tiny, the children we were giving the gift in the lounge of classes of the Sunday School. My father was stopping at the entry of the annex of the temple with 75 cents; this way, according to my sisters and I we were happening to him for the side to rise to our lounges, he was distributing a peseta to us to each one so that we were giving it of gift. Today, 25 cents it does not sound to much, but, in that epoch, with a peseta we could buy the whole lunch in the snack bar of the school. But my sisters and I realized very well that these 25 cents were not for our personal use, not for our savings. Since my father was extracting them of his pocket, these 25 cents him belonged to the Gentleman.

The topic of the gift and the tithe was very common in our house: the importance of ofrendar and the essential thing of giving the tithe correctly without remaining with nothing that us did not belong. And to this he was followed by examples of relatives and acquaintances who had failed in this and had had to face problems or deplorable situations. But my parents were not telling us these histories for infundirnos fear, but to teach us that God is faithful to his Word on having blessed those that him obey and to discipline those who do not fulfill what He orders.

Therefore, they taught us from early to separate for the Gentleman a part from what we were receiving like profit. Responsibly, my father was sitting down with us to explain ourselves how to extract the tithe, and was making very clear to us that this was the first thing that was done. Nothing of pays any debt before expiring with the first Gentleman, to God what is a God; then, to American Express what belongs to American Express. And very learnedly he was instructing us saying that, when we expire with what God sends us, although it seems that the money is not going to reach us, God is in charge of providing to us what we need because He does not leave the helpless just person.

In the course of time, and on having had to face difficult situations, my husband and I have verified that the Gentleman fulfills his promises. Only it is enough to us to extract accounts in order year, or at the time of filling charts, to realize that truly God has fulfilled us. It is possible that monthly the expenses of the house and the cost of life overwhelm us, worry us and perhaps I even took the sleep from some, but of something I am sure: God is faithful and he fulfills everything what we lack.

Ofrendar and to give the tithe does not depend on the age, of how much we win or on if the money remains us to do it. It is not important that you are 16 years old and scarcely you begin to work, not of that you are 50 years old and too much economic responsibilities. Depend on if you want to obey God or not, if you want to fulfill his orders or not, if you can have the confidence and safety of which the Gentleman, does not import your situation, it can fulfill and provide for you.

Still, on the day of today, my father continues “turning round me” occasionally with this question: "Are you giving the tithe?” And, at the moment, I enter panic trying to do memory, to remembering when it was the last time that I did it. Nevertheless, my parents can be calm in this: for the God's grace, this was a lesson well learned and put into practice. Of them I learned (and this way I hope to teach him to my son) that we must be faithful to the Gentleman, be with a peseta or with big quantities of money. Ten per cent and the gift him belong to God; after all, everything what we have we owe it to Him.

“Moan, blessed! Again for the church?” For Mercedes Cordero

This was my complaint to every moment, and it had a tested list of excuses not to help: "It is that I have examination tomorrow”, “I have a project for tomorrow”, “A group of my friends is going to meet to study / do a project”, “In the school they gave me hard today, and I am tired”. For what my parents had a list of answers: "You knew that you had this examination from last week. Why did not you study with time?”, “This project was not today that they assigned it to you. The next time begins to do it since they say it to you”, “Ah, so good what that your friends should meet. You go for the church”, “Time of more you are going to have to sleep and to rest when we come from the church”. And without much ado, we were going away for the church.

Between the age of 12 and 18 years, to go to the church was boring for me. We were going every Sunday morning and for the night; every Tuesday to the Biblical study; every Thursday to the prayer service; and to speak of the weekends in which there was anniversary, campaigns or activities in the temple. “But do they go to keep on inventing things to have to go to the church?”, he was thinking. In that moment it neither could see the importance of being present at the cult nor could understand the insistence of my parents of which we were always with them.

In the course of time, God is in charge of calling us efficiently for salvation, and we begin to grow in Him and to see the things otherwise. In the adolescence, hardly we can see the importance of being present at the church, and my parents knew this, but they were in charge of emphasizing in that over everything what we consider to be important the obedience is to the God's Word. And that it was applied to them and to my sisters and.

Like parents, they knew well his responsibility in front of God of raising us and of learning with a strong basis in the Word. This began in our house and was hardening in the cults of the church. Thus I learned two very important things that I hope to be able to teach to the son or children that God grants us.

First, I learned the essential thing: that, over everything, is to God to whom we owe obedience, and, then, to papi and to mami. God sends in his Word that we congregate. How many times a week? It does not specify, but from kidling I learned that whenever one has the opportunity to be present at a cult of the church he must make use of it because, definitely, it is better one day in the God's house that thousand out of her. In the cults we produce to God the glory and the tax that He deserves, and grow in the God's knowledge and his Word. Will there be anything more important than this?

Second, I learned that my church is my family, that the God's love that joins us is much stronger than any bond that us one with other friends. Our brothers of the church cry with us in our pain, laugh with us in our happy moments, advise us, cheer us up, pray for us, worry for us. They love us and this way they demonstrate it.

My prayer is to encourage in my son from child the importance of being present at the cults of the church in obedience to the Word and because it is a blessing for the family and for individual each one. The day that puts his excuses, I will breathe deeply and will extract, perhaps, an answer of the list that my parents had because, in spite of reluctant that was in that epoch, the final score was worth while.

Who is in control? For Mercedes Cordero

When it was adolescent and was asking for permission to go to the movies, it had to do it with a week of anticipation, and my father was answering me “I do not know. Allow me to think it”. Then, the finished week was happening to me behind him asking him if he had already thought it and what his answer was, to what he was saying to me that not, that he had not thought yet it. Come the day from the exit to the movies, and still without knowing if it could go or not, there was returning where my father to ask him if it had his permission to go to the movies, to what he, very serious, was answering: “What does it surround? You did not ask me about anything of going to the movies”.

This him would look like to many persons a torture. In my house, already it had turned into a somewhat graceful routine that never had a final answer guaranteed. How daughter, was I despairing, but now like adult I realize that this served to me as much.

It taught me to be patient. However much I was insisting, it refuels of my dad it would come when he was deciding it. He was having me me to breathe deeply and wait. It was having to focus to me in other more important things like studying or doing the duties of the hearth. It was touching to learn that the things are not when one says, as one says or because one should say it.

It taught me that not always it was going to obtain what he wanted. Although one does not want to accept it when it is young, the reality is that the parents know more than we, and are named to look over our well-being, for what more is convenient for us. And not always what we want or gasp is what more is convenient for us. In the life, not always we have for what we wait, and I learned that from early, and learned to accept it.

He taught me to respect. The decision of my father was final and firm, it is not important that he was insisting and persisting in trying to convince it. It could neither go out with malascrianzas, nor shout him, nor demand him. What he was deciding, that was and point. He could think that it was unjust, that I did not understand myself, that if it was me who was, I would allow to go out for my daughter, but, after all, he had to respect his decision and to respect it.

I was taught, finally, who the head of the hearth was. That was always very clear in my house. Nothing of opposing opinions not divided between my parents, at least opposite to his daughters. Not at all of that my mom was saying to us that yes and my dad should say to us that not and a reperpero should form. They were speaking it, and my father, like the head, was giving the final score, we will like or not.

After all, there were a lot of more times that I went out with my friends that the times that said to me that not. But, in that epoch, one was focusing more in the few ones "Not" that in many "Yes". Nevertheless, today I can thank God for the form in which they raised me from kidling; because today I am who I am for the formation for which I had in the Gentleman and my sisters and I we have been supported road surfaces in the Gentleman for your grace and because we were well instructed in your way, for what now of adults we do not separate of him.

How parents, perhaps do not my husband and I use the same skills as my parents, but yes we hope to inculcate to our son the same values and educations to him that the instruction in the discipline and the love of the Gentleman they forge in the children.

The Triumphal Entry

Posted on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 07:00AM by Registered CommenterRev. Milton Villanueva | CommentsPost to Comment

This week, celebrating the most important act that has happened in the human history, we are going to speak about the clearest event for the humanity of seeing the one who was truly Jesus. In Mateo chapter 21 we read that Jesus was coming on returning to Jerusalem from Jericho, for the celebration of the Easter. But before speaking about this topic, we are going to go away to the Ancient Testament to understand that it was meaning the Easter.

In the Exodus book, we read like the people of Israel it was in the ground of Egypt, where it was oppressed by the Pharaoh and his people. Israel was a slave, and therefore it was set to realize the works forced in foreign ground. The God's people cries out and the book says to us that Jehovah listened to his prayers and capture to a man of the people of Israel to liberate them. This man was a Cradle.

Once Cradle was instituído for God like the one that was going to guide Israel towards his freedom, God says to Cradle that he should speak with Pharaoh and should ask him for the liberation of Jacob's people. After several occasions, Pharaoh refuses to liberate them, and God says to Pharaoh across Cradle that of not liberating them, it would kill to all the first-born ones of Egypt, both of men and of cattle.

Pharaoh refuses to liberate them, but God warns him your people, that this day, they should take a lamb and sacrifice it, and would place his blood in two posts and the lintel of the houses of Israel, and then they will eat the lamb, which had to be a lamb without any defect, and be prepared to go out of the ground of Egypt (Exodus 12: 1-12).

This day, it should be remembered by all the generations, and by it every year, in the first month (Nisán), on the tenth day, they had to take the lamb and for four days they would take care of it, and to the fourth day they would sacrifice it, would eat his meat, and with his blood they would mark his houses. With this, God was ordering the Israelites, to remember the day in which they were liberated of Egypt.

In Mateo, then, we read that Jesus was coming from Jericho to Jerusalem to celebrate the Easter, on the tenth of the first Jewish month (Nisán). But before entering the city, Jesus him orders his disciples to go to the contiguous village and a donkey and a donkey to take and that they to be brought to Him

- “saying to them: Go to the village that is opposite you, and then
you will find a tied donkey, and a donkey with her; untie it, and
bring them to me. And if someone will say something to you, say: The Gentleman needs them; and then he will send them.
”-Mateo 21: 2-3

Jesus mounts the donkey and enters Jerusalem continued by a big multitude, which was following him from Jericho, and had attended the miracles that it had done. This big multitude was shouting happily, was shaking palms, which were meaning freedom for Israel, and were throwing his clothes opposite to Jesus's way, which was done to the royalty (Lucas 19: 28-40).Mientras Jesus was lowering the Mount of the Olive trees, the Pharisees who were in a mount, they were attending this incredible fact. Incredible Porqué? Let's see Zacarías 9:9 to be able to answer this question.

Be glad very much, daughter of Zion; it gives exhilaration voices, daughter of Jerusalem; I have
here your king will come to you, I joust and savior, humbly, and riding on
a donkey, on a donkey donkey son.
” Zacarías 9: 9

We must realize very well that Jesus knew which it was the God's plan, and the Pharisees, as He, the Ancient Testament was known perfectly. Not only it was known, but it was known about memory. Therefore, Jesus did not take the donkey to make him see to the world that was humble, but to make him see to the world that He was the Messiah. To make him see the Pharisees, who on having attended this spectacle (the big multitude shouting: Hosana! Hosana! and to the savior of Israel mounted in a donkey) that He was that of the one that the writing was prophesying. For reasons that are not very clear in the Bible, the Pharisees, they could not believe what happened, since in his mind, although the sacred writing was saying another thing, the Messiah would come in a white horse and it would be that that would liberate them of the oppression that they were suffering in this moment for the people of Israel. The Jewish writings, specially, in the Talmud, in the book of Sanhedrín 8, write the ancient ones that the Messiah would come to Israel in a white horse if the people was prepared, but it would come in a donkey if the people was not prepared (which we know was what happened).

It was clear that they were attending what Zacarías had written hundreds of years earlier about the arrival of the Messiah, but they did not want to open his eyes. In Lucas we read that these Pharisees come to Jesus and say to him that he should be quiet to those who follow him, which he says to them that they should stop singing: Blessed the king who comes in the name of the Gentleman; peace in the sky and glory in the heights! (Lucas 19: 38). Pero Jesus answers them that if they should not shout, then the rocks would shout for them.

That is to say Christ said to them that nothing could prevent this day from being shown real Jesus, that one that had been prophesied by the prophets of the Ancient Testament, the savior of Israel and the blessing of all the nations, but as they were saying also the Hebrew writing, because they were not prepared, they could not see that his king was coming to them in a donkey.
