Cancer
Investigators of the University of California in the United States realized a comparative study of the diet of 2.200 persons, whose results were published in the academic magazine "Cancer, Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention". According to the study, to eat at least five portions on the day of certain fruits and vegetables might reduce the risk of developing pancreas cancer in 50 %. [1]
Vegetables for the Cancer
The onions, garlic, beans, carrots, corn, and citric fruits, are inside the list of more beneficial food; in turn it is suggested that the raw vegetables are more protective against the pancreas cancer that the cooked ones. The investigators also accepted that the results might have been influenced by the meal that often is consumed together with the vegetables.
While a diet merely vegetarian might help to prepare the Cancer of Pancreas, another study suggests that the consumption of good daily doses of vitamin D might help to prepare other more common cancers like the cancer of bosom, ovary and colon, between others.
Vitamin D to prepare the cancer
The second study in question, found in the Publication of Public Health of the USA, suggests that the "high vitamin doses D would help to reduce the risk of developing some of the more common types of cancer like the cancer of bosom, cancer of ovary, cancer of colon, between others. [2]
The vitamin D [3] also acquaintance like calciferol or the vitamin of the rachitis (since his deficit provokes this illness), is a soluble provitamina in fats and it is possible to obtain by means of the food ingestion that there contain this vitamin, like the enriched milk, the egg and the greasy fish; or also it is possible to obtain for the transformation of the ergosterol (proper of the vegetables) when it comes to the skin and reacts with the solar radiation.
According to the results of 63 previous studies, if there are consumed 1.000 international units - the equivalent to 25 micrograms - of vitamin D, the cancer risk diminishes in 50 % for the cases of colon, and of 30 % for those of bosom or ovaries.
Of any form it must have precaution on having added the vitamin D in his diet since the vitamin excess D [4] can cause damages to the kidneys and the liver.
